Vermiculite is a layered structure of magnesium containing silicate secondary metamorphic mineral, which is similar to mica. It is usually formed by the hydrothermal alteration or weathering of the black (gold) mica. Because of its heat loss and dilation, it is flexed and resembles a leech, so it is called the vermiculite powder.
