Quartz sand

Natural quartz sand

Natural quartz sand is a hard, wear-resistant and chemically stable silicate mineral. Its main mineral composition is SiO2. The color of quartz sand is milky white or colorless and translucent, with a hardness of 7, brittle and uncleavage, shell shaped fracture, oil luster and relative density of 2.65, and its chemical, thermal and mechanical properties are obvious. Isotropic, insoluble in acid, slightly soluble in KOH solution, melting point 1750 C. The color is milky white, yellowish, brown and gray, quartz has high fire resistance, divided into: ordinary quartz sand, refined quartz sand, acid washing quartz sand, high pure quartz sand and so on.
The unique physical and chemical properties of natural quartz sand make it play an important role in the aviation, space, electronics, machinery and the rapid development of IT industry, especially its internal molecular chain structure, crystal shape and lattice change law, so that it has some high temperature resistance, small thermal expansion coefficient and high altitude. Insulation, corrosion resistance, piezoelectric effect, resonance effect and its unique optical characteristics play an increasingly important role in many high-tech products.
First, use: glass, refractory, smelting ferrosilicon, metallurgical flux, ceramics, grinding material, casting, and quartz in the building, using its strong anti acid medium corrosion ability, used to produce acid resistant concrete and acid resistant mortar. Quartz sand as the core raw material of silicon raw materials plays an irreplaceable important role in the production and supply of silicon raw materials.
